Who I am and how I got here.

My name is Bri, and I am the owner and head decorator of Sugar Cakes. Nice to meet you, and thank you for being here. I would like to start out by saying, THIS is not where I thought I would be and honestly I don't think I ever really knew quite where I actually wanted to be.

In 2012 my mom got it in her head that I should get into decorating cakes and bought me a few tools to get me started.

I was clueless but I thought why not?! So I took a stab at creating an owl cake for my friend's 21st birthday with little idea where to start, an outline idea to create the owl shape, piping bags, and some random colored frosting. Thus, the spark was planted.

I didn't dive back in for a few years after that. Only baking random cupcake creations for coworkers and friends just because I loved taking on challenging new flavor creations.

And I must say they were ALWAYS a hit

2017-2018 Cakes were born...

I started to take on more challenges. Not knowing the ins and outs of the cake decorator tactics, I went in with full heart and soul, attempting designs I saw, failing and succeeding as I fumbled through, my mom arming me with every tool I could want or need.

I will admit, there are still some tools that I possess that I have NOT a clue what they do, hoping some day I will find the need for them. (Thanks mom!)

I still continue to learn something new with every cake I bake regardless of the tools and technique I use.

Sugar Cakes Was Born

2019 I made my stepdaughter's 3rd and 5th birthday cakes. Not thinking much of it, I decided to finally give this cake decorating business a whirl and start creating a portfolio for my cakes.

Armed with 3 designs I made that summer, a name (Named after my dog), and an “ok” logo Sugar Cakes was launched.

I have made well over a 100 different cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, and now push pops over the course of 3 years. With my beautiful pup as the face of my company. I stand proud of the the designs I take on and create!

I look forward to my future, and can't wait to crush my dreams! I can't thank everyone enough for the continued faith and support.

I lied when the seed was planted in 2012. Here is a Photo of my dad and I with the cheeseburger cake in 2008 I attempted for his 50th! It was such a MESS!! I could do a better one now dad! I promise!
